Success Story: Optimo Medical AG

Central prerequisites of this project included speed and high resource requirements for delivering the patient-specific surgery planning software. Optimo Medical was therefore looking for a partner with many years of experience – a recognized cloud service provider with expert knowledge, whose cloud infrastructure was based in Switzerland,

since the medical device manufacturer needs to know at all times exactly where its data is located in geographical terms. Netrics was a partner that ticked all those boxes.

Optimo Medical developed the OptimeyesTM software solution, which enables eye specialists to plan eye surgeries using software simulations that calculate the ideal patient-specific parameters in advance of surgery on the actual patient.

  • During the development phase, Optimo Medical AG operated an internal development platform. 
  • For the sensitive live deployment, what was needed was a secure, satisfactorily scalable, and high-availability operating platform that met both statutory requirements and specific Medtech-related needs. 
  • The cloud provider needed to have ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 27017/18 certification.

  • The infrastructure consists of two components: OptimeyesTM software and the ANSYS server. Netrics made all the required parts of the OptimeyesTM software (the web server, database, etc.) available on the Azure cloud. To guarantee the performance demanded by Optimo Medical's technology partner ANSYS Inc., the calculation servers are physically reserved for graphically representing simulations.
